I know, there's a thread (or 2) every year by someone moaning insurance has gone up, but i've so far, always come out unscathed, not this year!
I've had a 100 increase, which is quite a margin, and after an hour of trying am unable to better it.

10yrs no claims now, lowest rated postcode, no convictions, small modifications and 400 renewal tag.

I don't know how they can justify that when i can insure a bike which could kill me in less than 4 seconds for 200 a year with 0 no claims!

I know... mine has gone up too. Was really struggling to get anything near last years premium. I really feel like good drivers are being penalised by the bad...[8(]

That's cos it's cheaper for the insurance co if you kill yourself outright, preferably without taking some other hapless motorist with you - much more likely on a bike.

My insurance with Adrian Flux this year worked out 7 cheaper than last year - 326 fully comp/unlimited mileage/9yrs no claims for 1984 MK2 Golf with 16v conversion, bilstein/eibach springs & anti roll bars/4 branch/shrick cams/fully poly bushed/leather interior/tinted windows/500 stereo/thatcham alarm and 2k+ spent on restoring it in the past 6months. Got an agreed valuation of 3k with 250 excess after a bit of haggling and sending off photo's/receipts etc.

Well chuffed with that but then again i do stay in sleepy Galloway and it's parked my drive.

i hate people who get good quotes with adrian flux, especially those that are heavily modified, as for the last 2 years, they're quotes have been laughable.
560 this year from then, again, lowest postcode rating (if it really makes a difference) 10yrs, parked off-road, etc

Sorry Wez;), I've been with Adrian Flux for my last 7 cars (all modified) and never had an accident/claim or points on my licence in 23 yrs, passed my IAM 20 odd years ago at the ripe age of 19 also got BARS test certificate and done numerous skid pan/rally driving schools along with sections of the RAC 13odd years ago. I'm also a named driver on a mates car collection, RS4, Audi Quattro, 1930's MG, 1940's BMW, BDA MK2 Escort and others, I dunno if they take any of the above into account but i figure they must.
