Critcal comments welcome. I don't really know how to use the camera properly, I'm very hit and miss, usually take the same picture about 6 times with various settings. Tell me what I'm doing right/wrong. looking west across lake Windermere from Watersedge Some bizzare erosion up "The Old Man of Coniston" the "my van can climb a mountain" shot looking down from the old man. this is as far as "normal" roads go. by normal i mean 1:3 and tarmac, then it's gravel and mud. check the sign. the good old 4x4 van got as far as you can drive up here Helvellyn from across Thirlmere and again. I love this pic, could do with brightening up in the foreground more helvellyn rocks and water tree roots exposed by water erosion thirlmere again a rusty chain am I wrong to like lens flare? logs mountain pass stream my van on mars another pss looking north down kirkstone pass shap abbey. it took me 5 attempts to get the exposure (?) right on this one, and this was the best of the lot.
You're a dark horse, Paul! There's some really cracking shots there, no idea you were such a good photographer. You also seem to have 'an eye' for a good picture, which is almost as important as having the technical skills. Did you take the photos in RAW? If so, you can do a bit of tweaking to your exposures, whihc would, say, bring back the sky in the picture above. Nonetheless, still a good set of pictures.
Some really nice images there Paul. (An E38 scene sticker on your van and taking photographs in the countryside. You're not the Phatty you used to be.)
Excellent composition, which is what matters most! I would say the top one is a little over exposed and they could all do with a bit more contrast, but very good pics!
some nice shots - try to get PS or any editing software as it is easy to do and can make a big difference. Composition is the most important thing I reckon
Some great photo's there, I love the Lake District. Although not up to your standard, here's a couple from Kirkstone Pass, I took about 5 years ago, on one of the dry days, I had. By the way what a road that is, on both sides. Here's one of a bridge about a mile or so outside Ambleside
Can't comment professionally on the photos as I know nothing about photography, but they look very good - atmospheric even, and I am liking that van.
