I have just driven past a speed camera doing 25mph in a thirty (verified by the Road Angel flashing red!) when some little sod flew past me on a scooter and set the thing off! Am I likely to get the ticket because my car is going to be in the photo? And is the photo likely to show the scooter? Am I going to get busted for my German plates too?

    Great start to 2006![:^(]

Edit: I seem to recall someone on here mentioning a link to some forum for the police, where they would answer questions like that. Anyone?

They will verify your speed using the lines on the road. Shouldnt worry about it.

surely the scooter will be in shot as well anyway....so if they try and do you for it i'd go to court at which point it shoudl be blatantly obvious what happened just from the pics.

i think they only do that when people contest, as a back up? I know of people being done by cameras not facing the lines on the road.

Clearly though the scooter is going to be in shot so I wouldn't worry in the slightest.

    Standard, yes.

Most mopeds on UK roads can do a little more.

Where abouts was the scooter in comparison to your car when it went off-i.e infront or behind you?

like everyone has said mate they use the lines on the road to verify your speed, wouldn't worry about it :)as for your plates as long as they are in the correct font and easily legable then you should be fine, i'vehad a 6'' x 2'' plate on the front of mine for the last 6 months and have not had a problem with the police yet

Slightly off topic but one camera by my mums is by a bus stop so if a bus is picking up passengers, its safe to fly by! Bad planning?
