Hey peeps need your advice, For some reason i keep wasting a certain water hose on the engiine, i have had the car about 18 months now and had to change it 3 times and also changed it 7 months ago when i changed all the hoses. Its the hose that goes from the water pump to the Switch manifold on the top of the head . Is there a reason for this, i have washed out the engine and im using G12 fluid .

    Cheers peeps

When the engine's running and the car is warm, the hoses should feel like there's pressure in them, but not be rock hard. How do they feel?

Flushing the system is a good place to start, but...

I'm wondering if you might be blowing hoses off because either:
    1. The pressure relief valve in your expansion cap is blocked, or
    2. You might be leaking combustion gases into the cooling system (from slight head gasket blow).

So I'd start by squeezing hoses to check pressure (compare with another car if you can, and try not to scald yourself!), and maybe replacing the expansion cap, if you haven't already.

If that doesn't work, take the expansion cap off when cold, and see if you can smell exhaust gas in the top of the expansion tank. You can get it tested by a garage too, or buy a DIY test kit online.
