What size tyres was the Mk3 Gti 16v golf fitted with as standard? I assume it would be 195x50x15'', is that right?
but you can use 195/50/15, see inside the petrol flap for pressures on both sizes. 195/50/15 will be a lot cheaper, but has a smaller overall diameter, and looks a bit silly if the car isnt lowered (I know) compared to 205's. 195's also do sacrifice a "little" grip as well, but the cost saving is quite large, so u have to weigh it up.
