what are the stats on a mk2 16v golf, bhp? torque? 0-60? 0-100? weight? power to weight? 1/4 miles? all the important stuff!
110bhp@6100rpm 96lbft@5000rpm Power to weight 132.53bhp/ton kerb weight 830kilos 0-60mph in 8.70s Top speed 112mph
Is a mk2 under a tonne? I wouldn't have thought a 1.3 mk2 would be under a tonne, and thats without leccy windows, PAS, arb's etc.
I knew it was, might have brought up the stats for the corrado 1.8 16v, they have slightly less power because different cams and cat converters dont they?
here is a good page for answers http://fasthatchbacks.com/cardetails.php?make=(20)&range=(141)&model=(574)&gen=2) (88-92
Does anyone know of a site that has a chart/table showing the above info (max bhp/torque, 0-60, weight, etc) for all the golfs together? So you can see how things have changed, improved, or gotten worse over the years...
Not sure of a site, but Golf+ did publish the figures for each mark a while ago in its GTI special edition issues (when the mk5 got popular). IIRC the mk1 and mk2 had better power to weight than the mk3, which was a bit rubbish (here we go), and off the top of my head 150-160bhp into the weight of a mk1/2 wasn't far off matching the mk4 either.
There's a section in the back of EVO magazine every month that has all the variants together including the GT TDI's.
Cheers Jolfa, I did have a poke around on that site but could only find a page per car as it were, I was hoping to have all GTi's on one chart, I guess I could compile one in Excel from Carfolio, but I thought it might have already been done
