Is a mk2 under a tonne? I wouldn't have thought a 1.3 mk2 would be under a tonne, and thats without leccy windows, PAS, arb's etc.

I knew it was, might have brought up the stats for the corrado 1.8 16v, they have slightly less power because different cams and cat converters dont they?

Does anyone know of a site that has a chart/table showing the above info (max bhp/torque, 0-60, weight, etc) for all the golfs together? So you can see how things have changed, improved, or gotten worse over the years...

Not sure of a site, but Golf+ did publish the figures for each mark a while ago in its GTI special edition issues (when the mk5 got popular).

IIRC the mk1 and mk2 had better power to weight than the mk3, which was a bit rubbish (here we go), and off the top of my head 150-160bhp into the weight of a mk1/2 wasn't far off matching the mk4 either.

There's a section in the back of EVO magazine every month that has all the variants together including the GT TDI's.

Cheers Jolfa, I did have a poke around on that site but could only find a page per car as it were, I was hoping to have all GTi's on one chart, I guess I could compile one in Excel from Carfolio, but I thought it might have already been done :)
