So after the last rally I decided that the hydraulic cam followers/tappets on my ABF were far too noisy so did as other folks have done - strip them down and give them a good clean.

All refitted over the weekend and started the engine up and after the initial....."OH DEAR MY ENGINE SOUNDS F@CKED" moment....things started quietening down after running the engine at about 3K for a few minutes.

Trouble is they are still as noisy now as they were before I stripped them.

My plan is to take the rocker cover off and give them a good press to see if any are rock hard or too soft.

Anything else I should check or try before I fork out on a set of new ones???

Oil is fresh and I've checked my oil pump and it's not blocked and seems to be in good nick.

Cheers again for all the help everyone has been giving.
