How much to supercharge a standard mark 2 8 valve?

    Is it a DIY job?

What are the gains, etc etc?

I don't want to buy a G60 lump as the engine i wish to supercharge is mint and so i wish to just buy the supercharging parts.

    Eaton supercharger?

Why don't you want to buy a G60? it'd be a lot easier...you'd have the right cam, compression ratio, ECU and mapping, oh, and a supercharger too.....

because i'd want to use the existing engine block.

i thought it would be just the case of bolting on a supercharger etc.

a bit nieve i suppose but how would i go about this then?

so how much would a G60 supercharger cost then and all wiring etc. etc.

I've been told to go for an Eaton Supercharger for reliability etc. etc.

WHy use the existing block? it's not designed for supercharging.

You cna get a G60 setup for about 500, but add that again for a decent charger.

look in the golf magazine and u can ge a reconditioned vw supercharger for around 400 or more am not too sure, but the jabbasport people can fit a supercharger to your engine but is far and costs a lot, definatley not a DIY job tho, too delicate!! or you could get a complete supercharged engine from volksbits fitted at about 2000, but arn't vw engines, heard they are just as good tho.

A low compression PG, yours is a high compression PB.

You consider your engine to be mint, but to superchage it you will need to replace pistons etc anyway.

a 2.0 16v would be a powerful and much simpler conversion

Just buy a G60 i picked everything i needed for 1000 of a chap including tank and big IC.

There are so many differences between PB and PG its unreal before u even get in to the engine itself.
