Going to replace them in my fettled head, should I buy genuine VAG or are GSF etc components ok?

I've tried stripping the originals but after more than half an hour of banging them on a bit of wood, the centres will not come out[:x]

If your careful you can pull the centers out with long nose mole grips, just pad it so you don't scratch them.

So just been to the stealers and asked the cost of tappets - 18 odd EACH! + VAT on top of that and that's about 180 for a set. :o

Does any other company supply INA parts other than VAG?

I've seen FEBI/Bilstein items for 5 each - are these OEM quality? I really don't want to put anything less than OEM in my new head.

The FEBI/Bilstein ones should be OEM quality. Never had any trouble with mine. Been in over a year now.

Yeah FEBI Bilstein will be OEM quality too. I picked up a set of 8 INA tappets for about 50 on ebay. that was before ebay became what it is today tho!
