I'm currently looking at getting DTH TB's from Badger5 for my Mk2, which is currently running a 9a block with gas flowed head.

I've got all the parts costs from bill, but I was just wondering if anyone has an idea as to the cost of installation and setting up/mapping.

Is it a DIY installation job, or a bit too tricky for that and best left to the pro's?

Tried ringing Stealth but think they must be closed until the new year, so any help would be appreciated.

To be honest i don't think Stealth are the best place to go for mapping.

Cost also depends on what ECU you go for... best to find a local RR specialist that you can trust to get good results and then ask them what ECU they reccomend. You can normally save a fair bit of cash by using the right ECU for the place thats gonna set it up.

Didn't Matt D say that Stealth weren't going to map cars with ITBs anymore? [:s]

What area are you in mate, maybe you can get some local recomendations?

RobT uses Mikechanics in Cheshire for his Lumenition ECU.

Fitting the bodies themselves shouldnt be too difficult, depends how mechanicaly minded you are really,

i did the wiring for a mates car we fitted bodies too, again not too difficult but be warned there are lots of wires that some people would just run a mile from,

personally i will be getting either DTA or MBE management, (my mate has omex, it definately does the job) as tubs says you really need someone who knows how to set it all up correctly otherwise your wasting your time,

The badger kit uses the DTA EXP48 system, and bill said that he thought Stealth were used to mapping using DTA which is why I was going to try them.

I'm in Aylesbury, Bucks - about an hour from Stealth last time I went. Not too sure of any RR facilities near here, only one I know of is G-FORCE who normally race-prep Porsches!

Matt told me the installation of the TBs themselves is relatively straightforward...

Certainly doesnt look too daunting!!! I think Vince is happy to continue looking after the my car, but not sure if he wants to do any more......

I can find no flaws whatsoever in the way Vince has mapped mine Tub...seems very up to speed on DTA ;)

Mapping them is pretty hard... I've had lots of trouble with failing TPS sensors, which keeps throwing out the map. This is the problem with standalone systems - the sensors they provide you with are usually not OE quality. This is why you buy a Motec and be done with it, like I'll do early next year [:D]

I'll 2nd that fitting them physically is easy...but you do need a heat shield, as much you don't realise it until you fit one ;)

Is that a heatshield on the underside of your TB's H8SV8S?

Yep, it's a pretty basic thing, but took a while to design. It certainly works, though and is definately something I'd recommend. I can give you more detailed pics if need be.

I doubt that m8.. but he's not a fan of em..
Mike'anics does a cracking job.. I would say RobT's car is one of the best/smoothest maps I've seen and been in.
    Lumenition on his..
