Was driving home from work today and for the first time in along time, I saw a Cavalier Turbo. I used to own one [:$] and I have to say for 1993, apart from the engineering, the idea was spot on.
A proper wolf in sheps clothing.

What other Q car's from the 80's or 90's can you think of that you just don't see anymore?
Obviously cars like Cossie's etc won't count, as you do see the odd one, and people know what they are.

    Lancia Thema 8.32.
I've seen just one on the road in my life. To give credit, the bonnet was down and the wheels were turning, which I believe is to be considered a bonus.

  3. also the dedra turbo, i used to own one, performed well to being tuned but head gasket was never so keen!

Search for a thread on Ed38 about a Passat W8. The guy bought 4 I think before he finally threw in the towel as it kept mashing the engines [:-B]

not sure they can really be classed as a Q cars..

I'd nominate the pug 406 MI16, lotus carlton, volvo 850R & subaru forester.

Perhaps the ultimate Q car of all time - the mustang V8 equipped rover 75 with national trust sticker, tweed hat and thermos flask on the parcel shelf.

might also get away with one of the early monaros in a dark metallic - doubt many would anticipate a 5.7litre V8 nestling under the bonnet.

    That's the much rarer and far more expensive evo model, the 190e cosworth looks like this;

First generation Subaru legacy, with the turbo boxer:

Doesn't look like much, and back in the early 90's if anyone knew what a subaru was it was a farmer who had their pickup.

Never mind the baby 190e cosworth, the "discrete" smart money was with the W124 500E

Completely anonimous as it looks just like any other Audi 100 C4 car:

    Audi UR S4.

    2.3 L 220 bhp 20v 5.

For a few hundred quid, MTM would give you an extra 100 bhp!

For a few thousand quid, you could have 550 bhp!

    And.

    It goes around bends!

I see someone has already mentioned the Merc 500e. I only discovered these around six months back when I saw one parked at a Heathrow car park next to me. First thing I noticed was that the arches seemed to be flared although the car looked totally standard. Then I saw the '500E' badge and thought Ive never seen that before. A bit of googling and I am a fan.

Fastest Golf until the R32. Even then I think VW are chatting it and the Limited is still quicker. Bit of fiddling and it's still ze best one.
