70k, one family owned since new, not exactly mint but servicable after I've done the top mounts, front VW badge and re fitted the exhaust properly. Got a set of P slots or bottletops that might suit it.

0 .....just a beer or two, (that I have yet to buy) and a battery! Our new 'wheelbarrow'

 1.05 litres of sheer power! certainly more than the brakes can cope with anyway, these cars frighten the poo out of me after driving the Corrado.

I had a 1.3 back in my student days. Went faster than a 1 litre but because of that braked even worse!! [:s]

Are the brakes as scary as my Mk1 Polo?
My Dad used to have one just like your's but I never really drove it anywhere so can't remember. It had a really cr@p carb though and kept going wrong, hope you have more luck. Seems like a bargain anyway! [:D]

    Excellent for the money! ;)
I hate those wheeltrims though, what on earth where they thinking when they designed those!

I know what you mean, they are awful trims! All the more reason to put some nice wheels on there... ;)

the brakes are every bit as scary as the mk1, but as NutterKam points out the mk2 got slightly more power, my coupe S had a whopping 55bhp! I've seen oil tankers stop faster. I actually crashed a mk1 because of the brakes not working (well, and being a stupid child)

I had a squareback a year or so ago that had very dodgy bushes in the front suspension, when you hit the brakes the wheel moved back in the arches and touched the chassis thereby slowing it faster than any polo anywhere in the world. That made the old remoulds squeal I'll tell you!

Heh heh... 55bhp eh? Awesome power! :p

Your old squareback sounds a bit like Fred Flintstone's car!
