Just had a Toad ai606 fitted to my mk1.

i love the plain look of the golf, no stickers graphics etc, but I cant decide whether or not to put the stickers in each door window.

it would spoil the look I have pretty much achieved, but if it would prevent attempted break ins, then its more than worth it imo.

    any thoughts please?

Fit them, otherwise by the time the pikey scumbag trying to nick your car finds out, he'll already have done the damage.

Just stick em on...Or you may regret it!!!

If you goin to a show you could always just peel em of, and put new ones on again

I've got the same alarm on mine, but no stickers. They weren't on it when I bought it, or in the folder of receipts and documentation... I've considered getting some but figure the knight-rider style light show when it's armed is enough! The guy that installed the alarm must have had an LED fetish

    I haven't got any pics... But there's:

    * One in each door by the lock pin thing, blue flashing
    * One on the centre console, red flashing
    * One in a switch blank to the left of the dials, red
    * A weird Knight-Rider style red thing that sweeps left to right, then back again, mounted by the ashtray

It's like a mobile disco in there at night! I'll get some pics when I remember...

I just have the one LED on the dash.

I`m a bit of a fatalist when it comes to people breaking into my car.

If theres something in there that they want, your average chav isnt going to give a sh*t about alarms or stickers or little flashing LED`s.

Brick straight through the window, rip out head unit, run off down the road.

Only takes a minute anyway and who the f*ck pays ANY attention to car alarms nowadays ?

    Besides, stickers have words on.

Most of these little c*nts cant read anyway.

I got my Toad fitted and the suckers pt the stickers right infront of
the door pin so ou cant see if it is up or down. Thenwe got a Clifford
fitted and the useless twats (annother set) went and did the
same thing. [:[] I've peeled them all of and I'm fitting them in the
front corner of the rear side windows as soon as I get hold of some,
they'll look subtle enough there I reckon. I have since replaced my
lock buttons with leds to stop the packing strap trick, fitted armour
plates (to cover previous damage of course) and de locked the
handles so the little fuckers cant break them like they did my
    mk1.

I put the stickers on mine and also had the door pins replaced with led's that flash red when the car is locked. Easy for a fitter to do and also prevents some scumbag from getting in the car using a coat hanger to lift the door pins

I used Toad 10 multi-level defence system stickers to confuse em though its got an Ai606, and replaced the door pins with tricolour LEDs that light up red when locked, yellow when the pump is locking/unlocking and green when the doors are unlocked, fitted ADPs and anti slim jim plates (available from VW) only way in is through the window.

Going though the same process with the Diesel but got a clifford g4 with g5 badges and LED.

this was an interesting thread to read for me as ive just had mine installed and the installer didn't put the stickers on.

I was wondering whether to put them on or not, and im still reluctant to do so even after reading that most people think its a good idea :)

i think ill stick them on though.
