I have been given a TomTom 500, but it won't switch on. The LED lights when on charge, but can't get it to power up. Tried the reset button with no joy.

Anyone know of anywhere that repairs these, it's out of warranty so can't take it back.

Also can these be blocked so they don't switch on if stolen? I don't know the history of the unit.

 Thats EXACTLY what people on other forums have said! Maybe the previous owner of my TomTom threw it at the TV when the advert came on, hence it not working

Normally the reset button solves things like this. Just make sure you use something like a pin as a pen tip is too big. If you've done this and you feel the little button click then [:s]

Try re-charging it for a bit longer.
