    Hi Guys,

    I need some help with my golf mk1. It is running on twin dhla40f dellorto side drafts. The problem is i cannot get the car to run and idle properly. I have taken the car to a carb "tuneup" center but after it was there for about a week it is still not sorted out. The guy from the tuneup center told me that he had to make the idle jets bigger (between 1mm and 2mm) to get the car to idle. After i got the car back from them, the car is running extremely rich, spark plugs burning pitch black, car smoking black and you can smell it in the exhaust fumes. and not to mention how bad the fuel consumption is on the car. So the only thing i can think is that the jet sizes on the car is incorrect. here is the setup that I'm currently running;

    1.8 8v
    288 cam
    big stainless steel valves
    head is gas flowed
    bigger pistons
    branch
    free flow

    here is the carbs and jet sizes;

    2X Dellorto dhla40f
    Air 210
    Emulsion 7772.8
    Main 132
    Idle 55 (was made bigger)

    Can someone please tell me if this is the correct jet sizes or what size jets i should fit?
