    Hi

I could use some new rear slicks for my car for this year so was thinking of trying some 13's - thinking being they are lighter than 15's and in race tyres, can get both 13's and 15's in 21.5" diameter.

    But who makes a lightweight 7 x 13, 4x100 with approx ET35 ? Anyone got any ?

Dont need big brake clearance as will be going on the back only.

    Suggestions please !

    Ta

    Rob

might be worth thinking about the weight on this rob. 13" wheels with big tyres will probably weigh the same as a good lightweight 15" wheel and tyre.

i've just purchased a set of these which are rather cheap. i priced them and 120 a rim elsewhere...

one of the chaps who turns up to loton park with a very quick 205 runs 15s front and 13's rear, reckoned he saved 5kg across 2 wheels going to 13's - BIG saving especially being unsprung - his rears were so light, amazing. They were image wheels so pretty spendy so dont think I can stretch to them and new tyres b ut was wondering if some one piece wheels 7x13 were available at a reasonable price.

Was worth thinking about before spending 180 quid apiece on new 15" slicks.

The ATS DTC wheel is very nice - tried to buy some couple yrs ago from AAT but they just messed me around so much I told them to stick the order in the end. Shame. They dont come in 13's though I dont think.

You sorted out if you need the space savers yet? Think I have 2x 4 stud savers you can have but you will need to alter them to go over the brakes.

5kg's phew sounds like quite a bit of weight saving to be had then.

i must get my finger out and get some wheels/tyres weighed up this weekend. probably one for a seperate thread.

DTC's only in 15" Rob. 7 and 8" wide though. Got mine via AAT and it appears that ATS have sorted out their internal problems as getting them was pretty painless.

13" CXR's are every bit as light as anything Image do.

Worth having a look at the 13" spun wheel Braid do. They are axle weight dependent though, so be careful.

I've gone for 15's all round in the end. The whole 13" with softer tyre on the back thoery (which makes sense on paper) got blew out the water by Vinny Dobson's Golf at Harewood last year.

The car is very well prepped and Vinny is a very clever lad, but spec wise it's far from the ultimate. He ran 8x15's with 8.7's all round and was 1.5sec quicker than any other 2 litre FWD car I have seen at Harewood, Richard Marshall's Pug 205 included.

I'll have my work cut out to beat him!

DTC is a good wheel - making enquiries to see if I can get em elsewhere than AAT

CXR's only come in +ve offsets for racecars/caterfields

Looked at them Braid wheels - spun ones only for 650kg cars.....nice but my car is too heavy

Think I might keep my 15's on the back, pro-race 1's and pretty light so will get some new tyres for them. No obvious / cheapish candidates to replace them with I can see.

Might get a pair of 8x15 DTC's for the front to run the 8.7 x 21.5 - for some tracks a smaller dia than the 23.3 / 16" that I run now would be an advantage perhaps, but for some a bit longer gearing is useful to hold a gear a bit longer......

strangely, I'm convinced the 16's give better grip once moving, and times reflect this, but my old 15's have better 64 ft times.

Have you ever heard of www.keizerwheels.com?

They will supply you wheels with custom offsets and PCD, and they specialise in small wheels- 10"-13". Prices were reasonable last time I looked.

    Might be worth a look.
