Unknown Connector in Engine Bay 16V

    Hi there, I have found a big connector under my screen wash bottle in my GTI 16V. I am not sure what it is for, at a guess it would be a diagnostic port but I was told VW didn't fit them to the mk2 Golf K-jet.

    It is 2 connectors next to each other in a black rubber casing. I have attached two photos via a google drive link below.

    That looks like the wiring connectors to plug into an old aftermarket alarm siren and electronics unit.

    A Scorpion, possibly 838 at a guess. Certainly the 12 pin connector wires seem to match the 838 wiring diagram.

    The 8 pin connector is for remote locking.
