Really like the look of this backbox. Kind of an over the top upswept Mk1 style backbox -

Is it just a case of getting the existing tailpipes removed from your backbox, and a pipe welded back on, or can you actually buy a backbox like this?

Also, if anyone has got anything similar or more subtle, post up some pics please.
Im sure ive seen a few on here before.

    Cheers

Don't think you can buy them like that, I'd imagine they're all custom made. Not too sure myself, it's a bit extreme! Might look better on a small bumper car

Yea i can see what you mean about looking better with small bumpers. But it does look good in the above picture ^^^

I just wanted something different from the twin tale pipes i have on there already.
Ive also got a standard 8v backbox, which does look great, but looking for more of a single tailpipe design tbh.

I wonder what company could custom make one for me then, to a top quality to.
Not looking to get it done any time soon, just want to gather some info on it

Maybe the people who make the exhaust can weld a nut onto that broken bolt as well?

Sorry couldn't resist but have a little chuckle [:$]

I don't think that's too subtle personally, but if I know where you're going with the style I know Bosal made a 'sport' range of exhausts which my brother had one many years ago on his mk1 golf cab. I'll have a look

Well i'm gettin sick of hearing the same thing all the time mate thats all. Ive already decided that its being fixed by going through the floor as its bent and has more than likely cross threaded so welding a nut would be useless. This thread is about the exhaust so lets get on topic yea. Cheers.

    That looks f*cking dreadful!

I think you're the only one who's sick of the wishbone joke, I chuckled

Anyway, do you have a Powerflow dealer locally?

Jetex sell custom parts to make up exhaust. If you buy a silencer and get some part to make that shape then weld them it may work. IMO it looks sheeet.

On that car it makes sense, but unless you're is going to look like that then it will look a bit gash on a standard MK2 IMO. Wishbone bolt thread has become a bit legendary now it seems....oh dear!

That would be great cheers

I can see what people are saying. The pic i posted above is a little ott.

Would really like a single tailpipe, slightly bigger than a carby one, which slants off to the left. Will have to be stainess though.
