Fitting into a Mk2 16v Golf with the big bush in the wishbone there is a little amount of play in it, should there be any play? Why are the smaller bushes moving about in the other wishbone? Are they the right wishbones? I have seam welded these for extra strength. Should I buy new wishbones and put them in and forget the welding? These are the Prothane set bought from GSF, what a nightmare. Any comments/help is much appreciated
I recently started the process of fitting propane bushes to my valver and there was definatly no play on the big bushes in the arms with my kit ,since doing the arms i have noticed such a difference .mine have been in for about 4 monthes now and the car feels great with them ,probably havent helped much there.
hope you weren't smoking at the time, are these the really light ones ....seriously though, some of the poly bushes i fitted to two cars now have been a little slack, put it down to poor mouldings, should be a tight fit
Sorted ....... Well almost, one side done, one side to go steering is better already but will be even better once the other side is done, new shocks, top mounts and springs
I've had no problem with my bushes they fit perfect into OE wishbones. If you have a factors wishbone then no poly bush will fit correctly. I have been out and about checking. Rubber bushes fit in to all factors wishbones as the rubber expands and contracts to fit. Urathane ones don't, hence a better performance. If some idiot has changed your wishbones in the past to a factors equivalent then you may have a problem regardless of the manufacturer. BTW the Urathane bushes from GSF are just as good a quality as other makes, just different colours.
