I never had one on the VR6 engine, does this R32 need one?

The wiring is at the front of the block and I'm using vr6 coolant system so would rather remove the wiring.

The wires are red/black and brown, can they be cut and taped in the loom?

I think it's a good idea on engines. I'd ideally want to wire in a system on mine. Got a pump. Just need to sort out some wiring. I'd personally try to keep it.

Maybe I could unpick the wires to the back of the head and mount a vr6 pump.

I am very interested in this and on a VR they are quite necessary, i want to fit one to my 20v mk1 too.

If your going to remove it i would be interested in the wiring + sensors

The VR motor suffers from hotspots and a runaround pump is used to mitigate some of those scenarios when the key is off but engine coolant is above a certain threshold. I have some documentation on this.
I have also seen some 225ps 20vT motors also incorporate a similar pump.

A friend of mine put a VR pump on his 20vT Mk1 (270bhp). Very easily done by all accounts.

Got one on my 20v, wirings not part of the ecu wiring and may need a delay off timer to get it working.
