Just trying to gather information and parts, here's the basics. Mate bought a 3.2 tt v6 engine, but has DSG flywheel, looking to convert to fwd manual so have found a v5 o2j. But need to change flywheel, any idea if the 2.8 24v golf flywheel and clutch will work with a fwd v5 gearbox? Presume the 2.8 is 4mo and may be 6 speed so I'm unsure of clutch spline compatible? If you are going to use the 02J, then you need the flywheel from the V5. You cannot use a 2.8 24v or an R32 flywheel. suitable for a 02M gearbox with a 02J. I have done this same conversion for my 2.8 24v Golf MK2 with an FBK 02J V5 AQN gearbox.
Thanks Eddie for confirming that, it's what I thought, but was confusing myself trying to cross reference numbers, and waking up 3am thinking about it. V5 box looks favourite, just trying to track one down locally, not 280 miles away which is how it looks at moment. O2j definitely lighter than the 6 speed judging by my 1.8t swap. Cheers
