I got VAG COM working at last.. made my changes. However... I think I need to take a look at the central lock PCB on the passenger door as it has a fault. I know when I lock the car on the remote I have to press it three times as the first press locks the drivers door but not the passengers, second locks both but then the passenger door opens, but on the third both doors lock and the lights flash..

Also I have set of my alarm to beep when locked, however its not as loud as a mates, and sounds different... are we allowed to pick a different sound, ie the german alarm or rest of EU setting.. and is there a way to test the sound of each alarm sound?

Where is the best place to pick up a copy of Vag Com and the cable?
I have an old laptop sitting around, and it could prove useful.

    Any thoughts?

it might seem alot but get the genuine version, and get the hex+can top of the line jobby, that way your future proof for if you get a post 2005 car later on  had mine for about a year now and its brill! soo much easier to use than early versions.

p.s. auto windows is done via a different lead, as its controlled by the coding of the ecu and not just turning an option on and off.
