I have a thatcham cat 1 full closure alarm and immobilizer.

One slightly annoying feature is that it starts to arm as soon as you turn off the engine (if you leave it with the ignition on it goes off though, but dont want to be doing that!)

I often sit in the car when ive stopped the engine and at the minute i have to stop, then arm and disarm the alarm. Same goes for getting the car out of the garage, etc.

I presume others will have this....is there a way to change it or is that just part of the security?

should be easy.. ask your local fitter so you can out it in valet mode - or turn re-arm off, whichever you prefer
