Who remembers the yellow Lupo that Ian from dubsport built ages ago? That had a 20vt lump didnt it with a boost controller in the centre console.
Never saw the thing race, he had problems getting it running right when he first had it featured back in June 2004. He didn't race it at International last year as something was broken I think. Anyone see it run this 12s quarter? Probably do 12's with 300bhp but it would be nice to have seen it run at GTI Festival. It's a good price as he has some expensive kit on that car. I for one love the colour, right in your face green. You could snot all over Mr M3 at the lights to!!!
I had a good look around this when i picked some stuff up from Venom. Attention too detail is stunning especially the interior. Engine install is superb too.
ha ha...... too much power, too small wheelbase and tiny brakes!!! I don't get the appeal with these sorts of cars, for that much money I would have loads of different cars that ultimately would be a lot quicker
keep in mind that that advert was 3 years old so the Lupo was alot newer then, Apparently they are a amazing car to drive, id love to have a go In a sorted one, alot like a mk1 I imagine.
I remember seeing it on the rollers at Awesome in Dec `05. Ian Lockley had bought it from Venom (or from the guy who bought from Venom. Can`t remember). It put out 315bhp, and 358 lbft at the wheels. It sounded unbelievable. Seriously quick on the road too. Shame it`s been rolled. [:^(]
Yeah. An S3 lump with an IHI turbo, and various other bits of trickery (DTA, water injection, high-flow (green) injectors, etc)
must have been mental, would love to see the full spec, how did it put the power down? certainly some trickery in the chassis department?
rb is prop peeved it was a youngish lad that did it rb spent a shed load of time on it sending the engine away to get it running mint
didnt it have the power to weight ratio of a lamborghini murcielago or something? im pestering my girlfriend to fit a 1.8T into her lupo at the moment. cant see it happening though.
I think it was just on some coilovers and uprated ARBs, so nothing particularly special in the chassis department. The power delivery was quite smooth, and by all accounts it was quite drivable, despite the massive torque in such a small car. Power/torque graph:
