Hello looking for help please, got a 1985 C plate I have VR6 which failed MOT on emissions - I have removed cat. readings are CO 0.89% / HC 116PPM / Lambda 1.01. Do these look right for having a decat fitted?
Also the CO limit on the paperwork is 0.3 should this not be higher due to the car being a 1985?

    Any help much appreciated.

Youre in the UK right? If so they should have tested it as a MK2 Golf, which has a CO max % of 3.5% ish. certainly way higher than the figure you have there take it back, or take it elsewhere!

Those are the emission I would expect from an OEM VR6 engine pre cat.

The MOT may be based on the engine fitted, but you will need an MOT tester to confirm that.
If not then it is as rubjonny is suggesting.
