I BOUGHT MY GOLF VR6 ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO FOR 4K WITH 98K ON THE CLOCK IN MINT CONDITION. ITS A Preg IN RED AND CAME WITH 17s, PRIVICY GLASS, ANGEL EYES, KAMEI GRILL AND AN INDUTION KIT WHICH SOUNDS SWEET. IVE GOT ABOUT A GRAND TO SPEND ON SOME EXTRA GRUNT BUT DONT NO WHERE TO START, THE ENGINE IS STANDARD APART FROM THE INDUTION KIT AND A POWERFLOW BACK BOX. I WANT IT TO PULL HARDER IN THE LOWER REVS IDEALLY, ITS A BIT LAZY UP TO 3000RPM BUT THEN IT FLIES. SO WHERE SHOULD I START?

I'd get yourself a Schrick VGI Manifold - this transforms the bottom end, really pulling from about 2,500, where the standard car won't pull properly until you get to about 4,000 revs. They're not cheap, but worth every penny IMHO.

    Visit VR6OC for more ideas.

Given your mileage I'd be getting my bores inspected first and make sure number 6 pot is in good working order before throwing any money at performance upgrades.

nah, should be fine at 98k as long as its been looked after.

get a second hand schrick, they tend to go for about 1k at the mo. you can fit it yourself, but you will need a remap (about 400).

I was always under the impression that a remap was not "essential" after fitting a schrick.

It's not essential, but it's a good idea to get the full benefit of fitting it.

good to adjust fuelling etc.. to match it with a re-map.
