fitted an obd 2 into my raddo but have no fuel getting through the injectors i have fuel to the rail, but its not injecting. I belive there is an ecu relay but dont know what number it is. Is there anythin else to check? cheers matty
if its late enough there is no ecu relay, just a pump relay. does fuel pump prime on 1st click of key? if so, check power to the fuel rail while pump is active. could be you have lost the live feed
pump is on a switch live mate as it has never worked off the key. and it pumps through ok. if i have lost the live feed how do i fix it?
injectors not opening is usually a sign ecu is not alive. position 3 on the fusebox relay 109 engine management.
the injectors should get power from the fuel pump relay, so that will explain it. Put the pump relay back in where it is supposed to go, and check the ECU is wired in properly. if ECU is not getting power the fuel pump relay will not be triggered. The later VR6 doesnt have an ecu relay either so dont be shocked if its not there. what year is it? I have a wiring diagram for the late VR, if you want it.
it was out of a 1996 mk 3 mate, which relay is the fuel pump relay just for my knowlage so i no for sure. we stripped te whole car just got bits of wiring left if u could wizz that wiring diagram over that would be ace
check out the fusebox faq, got it all covered as for diagram, pm me your email addy and I'll send it your way!
just checked my fuse box pictures from when i stripped the car and it didnt have a relay on position 3. my email is mattygolf@hotmail.com fella
sent you the diagram as i say the later VR doesnt have an ecu relay, so thats correct. Just got to figure out whats up with yours!
i have appox 6 volts on fuel rail when turning over is this correct im guessing not. cant find a point on ecu to test for power, im guessing there is just not found it. gonna reconnect earths at weekend give em all a good clean etc
are you testing from the fuel rail power pin to the battery -ve? if you're testing between the power and one of the earth pins on the rail then you'll see the injector pulse signal. if you are testing from the live to ground, no thats not right! you should see full 12v while the fuel pump relay is live. ECU power pins: 1 - earth 7 - earth 23 - ignition live (fuse 15) 54 - permanent live 56 - earth
small update busy weekend not got near the car. fuse 15 is intact not sure if i have power to ecu which will be a problem lol. gonna try and get on it 2 morrow
check the wire to Z1 is plugged in will be a red or red/blue wire, with a yellow plug on the end. does the fuel pump prime?
depends if its the factory one or not! the factory immobiliser will allow the car to startt and run for a few seconds, then it'll cut the engine. non-factory one i guess could cut the injectoor power if its been spliced into the right spot
na mate its the standard factory 1. i was told of a way today of switchin 2 wires round to move the 12 volt feed at the fuse box end need to do a search on ere really for that 1
right its not that then! if you look round the back of the fusebox is there a random red wire with a yellow plug on?
