VR6 Rev gauge

    Well I've tried 3 different types of resistors and it still doesn't work! Any ideas? My clocks are made by motormeter? Are all mk2 clocks made by these?

    Solved! 1/4 watt 1k resistors as it says but I had to connect them to the middle 2 posts ontop of my coilpack, not the 2 nearest bulkhead. No idea why but it has worked so I'm happy! Must be slight differences in coilpacks.

    thinking about this one some more, I think this needs to be done with 1n4004 diodes like in the megasquirt mk2 rev counter circuit.
    like this, but with 4 diodes to the 4 nuts rather than the 2 on the megasquirt diagram. apparently the zenner isnt needed either, just make sure the diodes are the right way round as they're like a 1 way valve:

    if this works then it could explain why the resistor method is so hit and miss

    will this work on BDE 24v V6 where its COP(Coil On Plug)

    Hi just wanted to know what cable do I need to work with the 1N4004 rectifying diodes. And i got 1N4004G diodes would the work fine

    0.5-1mm2 be fine. not sure on the G number, I assume be ok but Trev16v is the man for these questions :)

    They are a bit more robust to current back flow but will be fine as would 1N4001 diodes.
