Yes its possible to fit a VR6 Syncro into a MK2. I'd start off with a MK2 Syncro though as there is a lot of metal to be replaced if you want to convert from a 2WD car. In UK, only 5 door MK2's were officially imported. 3 Door syncro's are all LHD (VW never made a RHD 3 door syncro MK2) so you have to import one. So far as the conversion goes... you'll need a VR6 Syncro gearbox, transfer box and rear diff. These can be bought on Ebay.de. Search under VR6 Syncro Getriebe. The rest you probably already know about fitting a VR6 motor to a MK2. I'd upgrade to wide track while you're doing all that. Good luck. MG
Hi, is it possible to make a LHD 2 door syncro into a RHD 20vt syncro , ideally i wanted to keep my own mk2 shell and make it 4x4 but i bet that would cost a few quid, do you know anybody i can get a quote off ? thanks,
