haha that has to be amongst the scariest things ever, maybe worse when they dont put it into a gear at all for a corner?
Scariest thing I ever had was taking a guy around Rockingham in a BMW M3 and he had been given a briefing in how ESP was there to help out if you get into trouble. So when he got sideways at @100mph he took his hands off the wheel to let the ESP take over....scared the sh@t out of me, all I could see was concrete, fortunately I managed to point the steering the right way from the passenger seat and we just took a little grass and carried on...numbty. From then on I always briefed them again in the car that you still have to point the steering where you want to go so the ESP knows where you want to go....its not telepathic!!
I must admit, I thought the same but given the brain size of those commenting I thought I wouldn't bother posting as I would obviously be wrong.
looks like its turning left, hence him pulling it back right to me... and seen this happen on several 4wd launches on different cars. Norris's EVO's do the same
Well, my brians not very big, but looking at it my initail thought is that even if you were on a hard shoulder, you wouldn't pull into the main carridgeway, even if it is completely empty, less than a second after you drop teh clutch, unless something is causing the wheel to turn in your hand? And after nearly crashing an RS Turbo into a parked car due to torque steer I know how quickly and hard the wheel can get dragged out your hand when a turbo'd car hits boost and your not applying the right ammount of attention Granted that RST was 2WD not 4WD but i'm sure thepower an engine puts out can cause some movement in the car somewhere, whether it be the chassis or just massive movements in the wishbones etc.
This is very true. Although I believe that car is running 4motion stuff which may or may not act differently to Syncro depending on how its controlled. If they just switch the pump on to lock the rear diff perminently, in my mind that means its always 4WD and not FWD till it looses grip?
