Can you still buy 16v Pistons from them. ?

im looking for a set of Pistons to put my 16v KR lump to the Same CR as the 16v G60

Which i belive is 8.8:1 ?

Have Decided to do the Engine Properly Using as much VW Parts as possible. and might scrap the turbo idea. and go for a G60 to keep it entirely VW Parts.

 

AFAIK they don't sell any 16vG60 parts, in fact I don't think they sell any parts at all.......

 

Ok so any alternates then ? or will it have to be custom Pistons ?

 

You could go with Audi pistons - not sure which ones are the low comp. ones though - S2 maybe?. Someone on here will know.

Buy from German Ebay. 20, if you don't mind waiting a while for a cheap one to come up. Search for the words G60 Steuergert, or 35i Steuergert. I have a pile of them, and they cost me about 14 euros each on average. And they aren't for sale.
Ignore the bit where the krauts say they will only ship within Germany - they will ship to the UK no problem.

I agree....Go to Bahn Brenner - they do a monster G60 16v

 

BBM kit doesn't include any pistons, of course. BBM also sell some low-comp pisons that go into a re-bored KR block and they give a CR of 8:1, which lots of guys have told me is far too low for G60.

There's a small thread about using S2 pistons on the Yahoo G60 16V list at the moment.

I looked into ordering custom pistons from the US once - JE pistons, I think - and if I remember right, it would have come to about 400 or 500ish quid.

 

Accralite in UK do a low compression 16V forged piston (for a 16V turbo but may be near enough for you) but it has a 21mm pin - I think this is for abf-type engine with the 159mm rod rather than kr which uses a 20mm pin on a 144mm rod

does anybody know the width of a s2 piston in mm?

 

ok so supposing the S2 Pistons werent any use id be looking for some low comp pistons for a 1.8 16v with overbore of .5mm is that going to sting my wallet badly ? anything between 8.5 and 9.0 i think would be nice
