If you turn the key crank the engine and release it before the car has a chance to start. The next time the engine and cranked it won't start, it would take a good few seconds cranking to start.

Last time I thought the engine was flooded with fuel. So I removed the fuel injectors and without any fuel entering the engine I cranked up the engine and it started first tie and remained started for 10 seconds. This was without fuel.

    Possible Solution?
could it be a crankshaft position sensor fault?

Has any one had similar problems?
Can any one advise me when any sensors are located?

The engine cranks and now and again sounds like it wants to start but then it's back to just cranking!

    Checked

There is a spark from the HT leads
    Fuel to the injectors
Fuel pump starts upon ignition (petrol)
    Fuel Pump Changed
    Fuses have been checked too
    Distributor Cap Changed
    Rotor Arm changed
    Spark Plugs Changed
    Fuel Filter Changed

    Okay...It's started!!

I removed the fuel pump relay, then started the car and it started straight away, then turned offed.
Put the relay back and cracked the engine and again it started straight away...but took afew seconds to build up it's rev.

What is going on? Crankshaft Sensor fault?

Could the fault be a fuel pressure regulator that has ruptured?

i would say ecu relay perhaps, ideally get it plugged into vag-com and see what it says.

maybe its overfuellign due to faulty lambda or ecu temp sensor
