Are there any other sources for these VW "Special Tools" other than VW themselves? I'm after a gearlinkage alignment tool for the old Polos, it's VW Special Tool 3153. It's taken me a frustrating number of moronic email exchanges with the VW Tools & Equipment group (who are "special tools" themselves) to establish that it's obsolete from them. Seems that copy ones of the Golf alignment tools are available, but no such luck for the Polo.
it's a very over priced tool for what it is, and doable with the correct measurements, I'll have a look and see if I have them in work
Golf ones are, pre-'94 Polo ones not. Sadly not - see first post, it's obsolete from VW. If you do have one available I'd be interested to see a picture please. I've used the measuring method for years, but decided to try to see if I could source the original tool to make it a one man job.
I work at a dealer and would be happy to get them for you or anyone if they would be cheaper. But get them quick is its my last month
