hey wounder if some 1 can help me here ive bought a webber twin choke carb and im in need of sum guidence on how to fit it to my 1990 mk2 golf driver cheers
this is fairly easy to do mate u need to remove the air filter, disconnect the fuel line, throtle cable, the electrical conections (tie these out the way u dont need em now) and remove the vacum hoses from the carb. if i rember right theres 3 maybe 4 screws at the top of the carb that needs to be removed then once done the old carb will just lift off. next u will need to bolt the carb mounting plate onto the manifold rubber remember to fit the gasket inbetween these. now u can mount the carb onto the base plate. connect up the fuel line and the vacuum hoses if u have any spare make sur these are blocked off.now ur able to connect up the throttle cable this connects in a similar fashion to the old carb. u will have to run a choke cable from the provision in the dash to inside the engine bay to the carb then this just simple pushes into the choke lever on the carb and screwed tight. u will have then take ur car to the garage to get the mixture setup properly hope this helps it is actually easier than it sounds
