What do people use for wet races? I am running 195/50/15, R888's atm. Mk1 golf weighing 845kg wet with driver.

R1-R are out of stock with Toyo so need an alternative.

What are your restrictions on tyres?

If you can go to a full race wet tyre you will probably be 2-2.5 seconds a lap quicker than someone on there R888....

Have a look at the dunlop ones, there really good for narrower section tyres

The dunlops are very good in wet conditions, but the hankook VW Cup tyres are amazing in V wet standing water conditions you can run rings round people on them.

I went for TOYO R1-R's from the MSA lists - as a 'wet' tyre.

They are very very soft. I have only used them for 10 mins in the dry to scrub them in. They came back like chewing gum. I was taking it quite easy as well (although a warm day), as I didn't want to loose the 'sharp' edges of the tread - that is what gives the wet 'bite'.
    Around 75 each I think....

Fingers crossed they work well in the wet :)

How do you find the cscc tintops championship?

I was going for r1-r but Toyo are out of stock until august. Will hope it stays dry till then! I like the CSCC, good close racing within class and chances for wins if the integra make mistakes.
