What's the real fuel consumption like? Ie. when you go out driving it rather than driving for "economy".

Well having such a bad fuel comsumption does damage the 0-60 since you have to tow a fuel tanker [:D]

No, it was on the way back from the Malvern Show last week with Janet Edwardson on our arse ;)

I average 22mpg - that is 16-18 round town and 24-27 on a longer run. Like Gary said, I got 30.9 the other day but I'm not going to see that very often! It was a 16 mile trip with a mixture of 30's, 40's and National Speed Limits (single carriageway) which I stuck to all the way because I was in no particular hurry!

    Any in-gear figures S1mma?

    30-50 50-70 and so on?

Ok the R32 DOES shift from a standing start  However*, I find the 3rd-4th gear acceleration more impressive TBH.

    *oh god,It's catching [:$]

Where did you get those figures from? Because the 0-60 and bhp figures are different to mine which I got from the R32 brochure......

Brouchure states 0-62(100kph), not 0-60mph so thats why its 0.1sec out

BHP figures are based on the new "PS" figures. The R32 is listed now listed as 240PS. To convert from metric to imperial horsepower, divide the PS figure by 1.0139 = 237bhp

Came out 2002, production stopped and thats when the US run of R32s started. Same production line, but US cars get more kit standard and pay around 16,000 instead of 23,000. And the guys on the VW Vortex STILL complain thats too much.

We've noticed a flat spot in Claire's car that appears to be a common fault - found this on Evo.co.uk

I'm speaking from my experience on Fords I do a lot of re-calibrations to 'cure' driveability woes on lots of new cars, wondered if VW have a re-cal to cure this ailment on R32s?

All done through the diagnostic socket on the Dagenham dustbins:lol:
