Because as above, people pushing it too far is inevitably going to ruin it for all of us. Otherwise crack on nobody cares, but if you ask for opinions don't get in a p*ss when they're not all positive!

Only just arrived to this discussion and havent read all 9 pages.
    My impression of 'scene' is;
usually new car on finance, if not something wrapped or resprayed.
    Airlift suspension
    Rotiform wheels
Leather retrim on everything in a colour that is garish or doesnt match the exterior.
    Big sound install
    Show cage

Kinda the reason I stopped going to shows like Players because the cars look similar and started going to Forge Action Day's instead.

I appreciate the work but its not for me

Oh, I really like that, I must have one just like it.

Actually I think its a repulsive pile of crap but apparently car modding protocol dictates that I'm not allowed an opinion of my own & must make some sycofantic noises of approval

Got to admit. I love a low looking MK7 :)

Would love to do something similar to mine, but being a daily it wouldn't be practical enough for me. Especially the daily commute in London.

And I'd probably loose the great handling it already has out of the box. Tbh I've never driven a car with air ride so I can't make judgement on the handling really.

But, It's great how air ride and a nice set of wheels can totally change the look of the car for the better as above. [:D]

Another thing I find odd with show/scene cars is how, in spite of them supposedly being modded to the owners' individual tastes, they all look quite similar.
Most are variations on the same theme.

I guess its just a coincedence that the owners have remarkably similar tastes?

It's like Goths rebeling against the system but all end up looking like clones of each other lol

The golf looks silly to me but if the owner loves it enough to spend thousands doing it it's his choice which is what this thread is all about choice in a free society I can choose to think it's silly and he can choose to love it .

I like to look at all sorts of mods
To see what can be done tastefully .but for me
Bog standard nice examples are my thing.although
I do appreciate the hundreds of hours of work that
    Go into these builds.

Like it or loath it, the Honda strikes again!

This car won the sponsors choice at the Westside VW Treffen last Sunday the 27th.

Do you think the owner would claim they're being picked on when they continually get stopped by Mr Plod ?

How do you go around a corner?

Looks like it should be on train lines not the road :o

Looks very tidy shinny nice but ridiculous all at the same time

Never met the owner so do not know.

Appeared to be chilled out like the rest of us at the event, so who knows!

Looks a little like a Rover 200 from the back? With 10 bags of cement in the boot perhaps?

Not my cup of tea but kudos to the owner blah blah

It looks like the suspension has collapsed & the wheels are about to fall off.

Notice the car next to it has the same affliction, presumably the owners happen to have similar tastes, or are they.............what are those daft wooly animals that go Baaah?
