yeah...but it gets a higher spec. mkIV ('94-'99) polo's bhp... 1.4 16v = 100bhp, 1.6 8v = 75bhp (but does have lots of torque), 1.4 8v = 60bhp, 1.3 8v and 1.0 8v = i don't even wanna think how low it'll be!!!
thanx and does anyone know what CL stands for? because i am guessing it aint central locking because old a reg's have them
CL doesnt stand for anything. its a trim level & comes with: - nicer & darker door card & seat trim than an L model. - electric windows. - slightly green tinted windows. think thats about it, could be one or two other bits extra. I think all mk4 polos come with central locking. (although maybe not the older pre-96 ones). FYI - 1.3 8v = 55bhp, 1.0 8v = 40bhp IIRC.
GLX only available as a 1.6 iirc. A car I should have bought in the past; 5 door 1.6 GLX, Open Air, in Apricot I didn't at the time because it was a 5 door, but having seen a lowered yellow 5 door locally I really wish I had, no chance of finding another similar. Don't forget the SE. Was there a model called just Polo? There used to be on older ranges.
that is correct...my girlie has one, the glx is a 16v look a like but with less performance and less insurance. pick of the bunch really for a driver not to worried about performance...they have good low rev torque, ideal for my woman and lazy drivers.
My missis has a 2000 V 1.4 CL With: Manual Sunroof Electric Windows PAS Electric mirrors Central Locking Black Cloth interior as aposed to the minging light "Flannel Grey" Oh and no not all MK4 Polo's have Central Locking. And I think CL means something Luxury???
Here are the terms as i've been told L - Luxury C - Custom LS - Luxury Sports S - Sport CL - Custom Luxury GL - Grand Luxury GLS - Grand Luxury Sports GLX - Grand Luxury Extra GT - Gran Turismo GTI - Gran Turismo Injection GLI - Grand Luxury Injection GLX - Grand Luxury Extra TDI - Turbo Direct Injection (diesel)
