What do you think is wrong with this mk1?

Sounds far too good for a grand, if it wasn't over 300 miles away i would be there with the cash.

but rust most likely, in places you don't want rust.....

looks like someone has smoothed more or less everything on the car..........

 

mk2 dash, shudda stuck with the orig, smoothed all bits single wiper isn't mk1 either, ebay rear lights. and the wheels are too modern, engines ok tho.

 

Once youd sold all the crap, lights and wheels and other rubbish on it it would be even cheaper to

 

(as quoted: with only alittle bit of rust here and their)..........and here again.......and abit more over there.........oh, and theres this bit here as well...............no forgetting that bit there of couse...........

 

Get rid of the rear lights, relocate the number plate to where it should be, and throw in an interior and it will be a very good car for the money.

That is unless inoakgreen is right.
