Hi, The part is 191 971 848D. It is clearly some sort of clever cable/harness clip but for the life of me I have no idea where it fits. I can't even see it on all the photos we took!
My son and I have only now got his car going and this was left in the boot along with all the leftover bits. (The 9a is now installed and the E48 all wired -at last)

    Thanks.

    Nick

I think it goes under the front, around the crossmember area and holds the wires to the indicator and possibly front fog lamps.

Tristan,Thank you for that. I’ll have a look tomorrow.
In the old days a quick look on Vagcat would have helped.

Ah missing for ten years then its a collectors part!!
Seriously GVK thank you for that and your link is correct that is the part. As before I'll have a good look in the morning.
When we pulled the car to pieces to refurbish the sub frame and all the other front end parts all the little bits were stored in the boot - where else.
    Thanks Nick

I think it fits behind the bumper from memory, my mk2 is long gone though.

Yep as Tristan &GVK said, the big clippy bit fits to the middle post on the front engine carrier, then the hook bit slots under the lower lip. Then your indicator connectors clip into the smaller clips

RJ and Tristan - Thank you both for the photo and the link.
Luckily when we were stripping and rebuilding I had the foresight to copy and print all I needed from Vagcat (Wish I had done more). Its been damn useful over the last six years or so. Not a quick project this!!
    Thanks again everyone.
