    i have now blocked them both off individually and has made the world of difference! but am worried it will have long term issues!

    They`re vacuum take offs, so if open to atmosphere they will causing idling/running issues (cured by blocking them off as you have), but they should go somewhere...

    Hi i found an article about swarfega whether its any use to you or not;

    I can only go by my experience with this product.
    As a seaman, I used this every day for hand cleansing.
    It one day was withdrawn by my organization without explanation: we were told that it was an oil based product and gave rise to Dermatitis, this after using it for 25 years!
    Thinking back, the withdrawal of this substance coincided with the introduction of new sewage systems whereby the sewage was subject to a biodegradable process where "bugs" ate the sewage. When this was put on ships, all kinds of cleaning products were banned, including all toilet bleaches and powdered bathroom cleaners as they would kill the "bugs", thereby stopping the biological process.
    So I imagine that Swarfega is not quite so benign as the other posters suggest.
    Why not email the manufacturers? They'll tell you for sure.

    Hope it helps

    WHAT??? It's immortal stuff of legends!!

    Green gunky type stuff that's used for cleaning your hands after doing oily / messy jobs. Some folks even mix in a bit of detergent powder to get a mildly abrasive action going on too...

    They aren't vacuum pipes. They are coolant flow and return for manifold heating. Like what a carbed engine has to combat icing.

    Correcto they are coolant pipes. Think theres a core plug on the t.b somewhere so might have been leaking in the past? Wouldnt have thought blocking off the inlet and outlet should make a difference to the running unless it was cracked or something :o
