It's done by the ECU, which on the KR only provides spark control (not fuel). The ECU has inputs from hall sender, temperature sensor, etc. The ignition amplifier module just provides the basic coil switching and dwell control based on a simple trigger input. So, the amplifier module is supplied with a trigger 'edge', and it takes care of firing the coil.
Ah right thanks, thats gonna be a problem ... I need to advance the timing on my engine (im running a abf block and kr head) but im using a GU engine loom which doesnt run a ecu. is there anyway to wire the ecu up to just advance the timing or is there a dizzy i can get which has a vacum line? Cheers
Ah right i see thanks, so i need to find a vacum distributer which matchs that curve and fits in the kr head??
