Is it provided by the ecu or the ignition amplifier module?? (on the kr model)

It's done by the ECU, which on the KR only provides spark control (not fuel). The ECU has inputs from hall sender, temperature sensor, etc.

The ignition amplifier module just provides the basic coil switching and dwell control based on a simple trigger input. So, the amplifier module is supplied with a trigger 'edge', and it takes care of firing the coil.
