    hi all.

i dont know if this is in the right place but,

my mate (and a fellow forum user, Sheady) has recently had his bora 18t mapped (where it produced 203 bhp and 240ft/lb. we were having some banter and he reckons my scirocco (spec in sig, + KR cams , ashley 4 branch and jetex system) wont stand a chance.

i on the other hand think, and hope, i can supprise him with its light weight and probably more nimble handling.

what do you guys think, should i be worried? or can the rampent rocco pull it off?

    cheers all

    Jason.

It would be a 1\4 mile sprint I'd like to see anyway.

my mate had a mk2 valver, he raced another lad in a 180 bhp cupra, he said the cupra was faster in 1st n 2nd, but in 3rd he pulled past. my mate (owner of the mk2) reckons the valver was faster up the rev range.

You should beat him over the 1/4, but he'll be gaining by the end, assuming you both launch well.

For comparison purposes my 2.0 16v Roc runs 15.2 in road trim and while I've not raced a modded Bora I've beaten VR6 Ventos by over half a second.

yeah the older cars have a weight advantage a rocco muast weigh around 500 less than a bora as you dont have airbags side impact bars cat ect but it depends on gearing ect as well modern cars seem to have big flywheels
hence they are slower off the mark but once up to speed in gear acceleration is better .
