What's this pump thing k04 water feed ?

Hi guys I have this pump thing that sits inline on the water feed pipe that goes to
The turbo it has a 2 pin plug on it but I'm not sure where it mounts
As I was just floating when I bought the engine

Any help would be great

if i remember right it sits under the inlet manifold

 

Thanks mate do you know if this is triggered by the Ecu ?

Just wondering how it will work in the mk2 ?

 

But is it needed? I have not seen one on other k04 conversions..
