    OK i am attempting the 20vt into mk1 conversion and my first 2 questions are , whats this and do i need to keep it?

    and secondly any idea what drive belt to use once i have removed the p/s and a/c pumps, thank you.

    Thats the secondairy air pump /to do with exhuast emissions i think , not needed , (well i've never seen anyone have one fitted )


    As for the belts i know what one's needed if your still running PAS ;) , but i did read somewhere that everyone has been into GSF and they knew already !

    As said, its a secondairy air pump. Either get it coded out of pop a resistor in the plug..

    resistors wont do anything, it needs coding out to remove the fault code. but dont worry, even if it registers a fault it wont actually effect anything

    Its in a mk1 with aftermarket ecu so no fault codes to worry about so i can just junk the ugly looking thing, thanks all, also after looking through pages and pages i think i have found what belt to use, more questions soon no doubt.

    The mk1 owners club would be good place seen a few 20v's on there (helpful people aswell ) !

    Actually i go on the mk1 o.c site but really here is more informative imo.

    is it the alternator belt you need a part number for?

    will have a dig about, its somewhere on here, maybe in 16valvers 20v build thread.

    Yeah the drive/alternator belt, after going through the entire 1.8t q and a i have a halfrauds part no which is fine, will buy and try one soon.

    and what are these , what do they do and do i need to keep them?
    1 the shiny thing on the side of cyl head
    2 the plastic thing on rocker cover
    3 the 3 plastic items coming from the big rubber pipe, one has an electrical connection
    thank you for any help.

    HB925G is the part number from halfords fits great

    dont know bout the rest :)

    i fought i needed this intake pipe on my car with all them things on but as its running megasquirt they got ditched. i had a silcon tip lying around i blanked the holes fitted a dv on the boost pipe and used a manual boost controller
