OK i am attempting the 20vt into mk1 conversion and my first 2 questions are , whats this and do i need to keep it? and secondly any idea what drive belt to use once i have removed the p/s and a/c pumps, thank you.
Thats the secondairy air pump /to do with exhuast emissions i think , not needed , (well i've never seen anyone have one fitted ) As for the belts i know what one's needed if your still running PAS , but i did read somewhere that everyone has been into GSF and they knew already ! Jo
resistors wont do anything, it needs coding out to remove the fault code. but dont worry, even if it registers a fault it wont actually effect anything
Its in a mk1 with aftermarket ecu so no fault codes to worry about so i can just junk the ugly looking thing, thanks all, also after looking through pages and pages i think i have found what belt to use, more questions soon no doubt.
is it the alternator belt you need a part number for? will have a dig about, its somewhere on here, maybe in 16valvers 20v build thread.
Yeah the drive/alternator belt, after going through the entire 1.8t q and a i have a halfrauds part no which is fine, will buy and try one soon.
and what are these , what do they do and do i need to keep them? 1 the shiny thing on the side of cyl head 2 the plastic thing on rocker cover 3 the 3 plastic items coming from the big rubber pipe, one has an electrical connection thank you for any help.
