hi i am looking for sum real wheel bearing for mk2 golf syncro where is the best bles to get them???????
VW strangely enough! There are 2 different sizes so make sure you give them the chassis number for the correct part.
Hi, I need 68mm rear Syncro Mk2 wheel bearings. I can not use a chassis number as this is a Mk1 R32 hybrid conversion. I have been told that Passat fronts from 1974 to 1980 are the same. Can anyone confirm. If so a supplier and part number would make my life easy. Back to shortening the driveshafts. Joe
whatever you do don't go to david lees vw in alcester, he made a right balls up of fitting my syncro's rear wheel bearings. for the cost of labour you can buy a hydraulic press from ebay and diy. have a look on vwsyncro.co.uk for some info on which bearings will fit, i got mine from listers vw in stratford, 40 quid each as i recall, but if you can use the passat fronts (and i think you can) you can get FAG bearings (OEM fitment) from gsf/eurocarparts i believe for about 20 quid each.
fag part number is 713610160 ( 68mm outer diameter and 39mm inner ) , they fit on rear of mk2 syncro and front of passat 73 > 88
