When to change oil???

I have just done 600 miles on my rebuilt 16v engine. When should i change the oil for the 1st time? Am i ok to do more or should i do it now?

Its got new shells, rings etc...

What oil were you using to run it in on, out of curiouity..?

New oil and filter would be a good idea now or very soon..

 

It's about time I reckon - some would do it sooner, but don't panic about that. Just do it soon. I hope you're not running it in on synthetic oil

 

Cheers guys, some told me after 500 miles some said i could do thousands. I will do it soon then.

No i am using Millers running in oil I was planning to use millers 10/40w semi synth when i change it.

As long as you think the rings have bedded in properly and it's not burning any oil, I think you're ok with semi synth now.
