    Hello there

I have a spare stock ABF engine and i thought would be fun to build a low budget ITB setup. I know its an outdated thing, but why not. A friend of mine gutted a lot of GSX-R-s and my question is which type of ITB's should i buy from him? From which ccm or modell year is the easiest fit to a KR lower manifold? My golf is not a track tool, im looking for just some fun on the roads.

I used 98-99 GSX-R 750 throttle bodies. 46mm butterfly is maybe too much, possibly losing some torque in midrange, but I really like the result - 189hp (KR+schricks), 8,5l/100km dailying it March to October without issue.

look for separate casting throttle bodies, like 98-99 gsxr, most of the others are twin bodies in one casting.
with separate bodies you can use custom spacers to convert your throttle bodies to 88mm spacing of our engines.
intake manifold will be easier to do, nice straight equal lenght tubes, no need to fiddle with curved tubes.

Megasquirt2 with 4 channel driver board, so sequential fuel and spark.

Bike ITBs are less than ideal.

I chose my words. Not "Wrong".

If you got them for free, now make them work and put up with the nuances.

One more question. If i dont want to cut my standard ABF loom for standalone ecu, which more affordable factory vw loom is ideal as a base? Any petrol engined vw from the same year as my ABF? Or injector etc. plugs are not the same?

The loom for ITBs will be considerably simple.

You need the crank trigger, coolant temp, an IAT sensor in the air path of the throttles, then the very important tps input. The outputs are to the injection/fuel pump and ignition system.
The ECU needs a voltage supply from the vehicle's central electrics.

It would be handy to make your own loom to do this, keeping your 16v one in one piece , if you plan on to reverting to OE Digifant 3.2.

As Toyotec says the loom is very simple. With mine I had MS2 and I bought the bare loom to go with it. Most of the wires you don’t use but the beauty of it is you can run the ones you do need any which way you like.

I built my engine loom from scratch when Installing MegaSquirt on my Mk2 16vG60.

You get a better understanding of how it all works and how to fix it, plus not dealing with old wiring problems..

Stock abf injector is enough for solid road ITB tuning or should i replace them?

ABF injectors are rather small, other than that, ABF bottom intake manifold is too wide and curved, I can not imagine how to connect bike throttles to ABF bottom intake.
you better use KR/PL bottom intake manifold, replace K-jetronic injector cups with digifant ones 037133555A, then you can fit any 20vt injectors like 06A906031S / 0 280 155 897 together with 20v fuel rail.
