Evening all, my radiator on my 16valver has given up the ghost and so needs replacing. Anyone got any recommendations. I've found a few on various websites including VW Heritage. Just want to know I'm getting a quality one.

I got a no brand cheapy one from ECP, was definitely a mistake

oil temps were permanently a few degrees higher compared to the old oe rad and when you thrashed it the increase in temps increased further

the one linkied is mk2 1.8 carb/gti 8v rad, so its actually bigger than the 16v one. If I were you I would fit the gti 8v rad since they're way easier to get and cheaper (most places sell 1.6 radiator to 16v owners!) to fit the 8v rad you need the fan shroud, top and bottom hoses, plus the long thin one to header tank from 1.8 8v carb/gti mk2. apart from that direct fit

I'm going to have to get a new one for mine.

Toying with the idea of a custom made rad. But whatever I go for it's definitely going to be a top fill because I'm getting rid of stuff in favour of throttle bodies so it makes sense to get rid of some pipes.
