    hello

recently since I changed the cams to KR i think this has started, I got a vibration on run off near the thottle body. I changed the cable because it seemed loose but its tighter now but still whips back and vibrates when coming off the gas, whats happening?

    cheers all

    Tried. Now it's working

It can be back waves due to overlap, or backfire in inlet manifold.

    1. Check your timing
    2. Are you running super plus unleaded (98 RON)? - apart from pinking it can cause some other unwanted side affects.
    3. Engine & gearbox mounts - are they in good order and secure?
    4. Is the throttle cable ran correctly - are all grommets/supports in place - cable maybe directly on the bulkhead.

    That's all I got.

I haven't heard of them getting stretched to be honest - are they genuine VAG cables?

It might be worth replacing one of them and see how you get on

I replaced one of them and it still whips back like that.

Well if you replaced one of them it's unlikely to be stretching, I would check the routing and securing of the cable in case of any crimping/pinching that may be happening.

Perhaps the cable is a little taut?

Sometimes they need a little slack in them or the engine rocking back and forth can pull on the cable.

This was particularly bad in the early beetles where the cable was a solid wire that ran straight off the pedal lever.

Modern tubular cables usually alleviate the problem but it's still possible.

Adjust so there's a little slack in the cable at the throttle body and see if that helps.

I'd say it was more slack than taut anyway
